FCC Outreach Programs

Below are our Outreach Programs that we regularly participate in. We tithe 10% of all offerings made to the church out to support our Outreach Programs.

We directly support Intuba on a regular basis.  Through this ministry we have helped plant, and currently support, a Disciples of Christ Church in Zimbabwe.  We hope to plan a Mission Trip to Zimbabwe to help, first hand, with the church and the water well/ irrigation ministry soon.

The Bread Connection is a faith-based charity based in Johnson County, Texas. They distribute bread, pastries, produce, meats, and canned goods throughout Johnson County and beyond. Since beginning in 2015, distribution has grown steadily. They believe they are filling a “niche” that is sometimes overlooked. They facilitate food banks in the area by distributing food when it is needed the most. Instead of the hungry coming to them, they go to the hungry.

Each Wednesday evening at 5:00, during the school year, we gather and pack “Snack Packs” for school children who are on free or reduced lunch and are in need of healthy food or snacks for the weekends.

On Fellowship Dinner Sundays, the congregation brings non-perishable food items to donate to Operation Blessing because “when we eat, everyone eats.”

The mission of the Johnson County Family Crisis Center is to be the expert resource and service provider in eliminating domestic and sexual violence in Johnson County, Texas.  Not only does FCC provide financial support to the Family Crisis Center, but we also collect various personal items directly for the residents.

FCC volunteers serve Cooke Elementary students as Lunch Buddies and Reading Partners.  We also support the teachers with encouraging notes and special lunches and treats throughout the school year.

Disciples Mission Fund (DMF) brings the whole Church together, connecting us to the life-giving and life-saving work we have been called to do. DMF-funded regional and general ministries offer opportunities for Disciples to serve as missionaries, attend college or seminary, advocate for the least of these, and so much more.

In response to God’s call in Jesus Christ “to become the Gospel, to share the Gospel and to serve in mission from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth,” the mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest is to be a source of vision, nurture, wholeness and mutual accountability in order to serve and to strengthen congregations.

FCC gives monthly to provide Meals on Wheels with the steady income needed in order to provide food, friendship, and other critical services to our homebound neighbors.
